Dutch landscape design outfit, Carve, have created some stunning playgrounds. Melis Stoke Park in The Hague was designed for children with disabilities, yet is challenging for all children. It has a wooden climbing wall with hundreds of round climbing holds and an ‘inner’ play area with a rope swing, sandpit and more. It’s a nice example of fantastic design at a small scale.

Unusual playground design by Rainer Schmidt Landschaftsarchitekten. While playground often equiped with many pre-fabricated elements such as swing, ramp, slide etc, Rainer Schmidt's playground for the BUGA Garden Show in Munich just consist of two material/ colors (tartan and grass) and without any typical playground elements you would expect. Landscape as it is provokes children to play and jump around and up and down. Brilliant idea!

Rasmus Klump Land at Tivoli, Copenhagen, Denmark. The area incorporates playing islands connected by rope ladders, and balancing equipment extending from the ship Mary, the submarine and the raft, and up to the 9 m tall lighthouse.

Fantastic playground in Schulberg, Germany. This is the type of thing that kids should be playing on (not some of the boring climbers we have for them here)
