Things We Love...Porcelain Tile That Looks Like Wood
We have been loving the look of porcelain tiles that look like wide plank distressed wood for a while now. We are excited to finally be working on a project to use this product. It's the perfect application for a lake house. Our project is a re-model on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Will be so happy to see the fake travertine tile come up and these beautiful floors go down... The tile we have chosen looks like a limed gray oak... We have been inspired by this project ...
If you're after a rustic look, real stone flooring is a winner. It looks fab in a hallway or country-style kitchen and when laid in a random pattern, using flagstones in limestone or slate, mix a range of sizes for a relaxed look. Rangemaster Toledo 110 in gunmetal with the matching hood. Tiles from Topps Tiles "chic" range. Apparently they are exactly the same as some at Fired Earth. Come in shades of grey/white in crackled glaze. The one we thought we ordered was bright white "Chic Blanco" but alas....they were up before I could correct the error. Nice enough though.
Beautiful large tile open up the space. Not all tiles from the same series are meant to be in this pattern. The grout joints can be different. They can be cut to fit only if the tile doesn't have a beveled edge otherwise it will look terrible. Live the 7 foot wide hallway. Do nice!
