James Nathaniel "Jim" Brown (born 2/17/36, Saint Simons Island, GA) is a former professional football player & actor. He is best known for his exceptional & record-setting 9-year career as a running back for the Cleveland Browns from 1957 to 1965. In 2002, he was named by Sporting News as the greatest professional football player ever. Brown's memorable professional career led to his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1971.

Jim Brown is considered by many to be the greatest to ever put on a helmet. He didn't miss a game in 9 years, and left with the most rushing yards and the highest rushing average ever. He could have played longer at a high level, but chose to go to Hollywood instead.
