He is the 1st African American to hold this office and was the 1st black president of the Harvard Law Review. During his first presidential term, he signed into law the Affordable Care Act; Dodd–Frank; Don't Ask Don't Tell Repeal Act; Budget Control Act; American Taxpayer Relief Act; killed Osama bin Laden; ended the Iraq War. He received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2008 and was re-elected president November 2012.
