    DIY: Lace pattern on a notebook. Cover a notebook with lace and hold it in place with clear packaging tape. Spray the lace with any color fabric spray paint. After it dries, remove the lace.

Lace stencil: easy technique can be used for anything -- original poster notes it works best on fabric.

I made one of these once, it was fun and it turned out really cute. All you need is two notebooks, hot glue, and a pair of old, raggedy jeans.

    how do you secure it. is the string the only thing that holds it together when you wrap it? i'm thinking duct tape might not be so lovely. lol

    Good questions Eleasah. Sweet Paul Magazine says to attach the two ends with a hot glue gun.

    You could maybe use Wonder Tape as it is pretty clear. I think it would be fun to use different old laces
