What Can You Do with Liquid Starch

Who knew there were so many activities for kids using liquid starch! Here's a list of some of my favorites- from slimes to paper mache!

Glass Bottle Cutting- You can soak a piece of yarn in nail polish remover, tie around bottle, light with a lighter, let burn all the way around for about 10-15 seconds then dip in bowl of cold water perfect spilt every time.

Emmulate Chihuly's glass art for children! Mix liquid watercolor with Elmers (for a more translucsent) or with Mod Podge (for a more transparent) for brilliant color. Use plain hair dryers to stiffen the plastic into the signature spirals in his chandeliers. Use Clear-Lay plastic film (Blick) to create the spires and water bottles for the spirals, also chicken wire, c-7 Christmas lights, and duct tape (for the spires' bases). Love this idea for (AND ONLY FOR) books that have fallen apart: Print an outlined picture on it and color. Could do a set for a kid's room, or a set of silhouette prints on classic novel pages for the library.
