I have this day dream where I let Tash live at my house and while he's in his last year at school, I get a place in Toronto and get it set up and spend a year nesting and making it nice for us. He would obviously visit and I would visit here. I want to help him by letting him live in my place for free but I don't know how to do it without emasculating him. I could turn it around and make it look like I need him to take care of it for me.

Living Room - I am loving the modern-meets-oriental influence of this lively, light living room. While the color palette is soothing with light tans, grays, and blues, the accesories and furnishings are rather bold and daring. I am loving the masculine touch of the futuresque octagonal glass chandelier, that is in contrast to the feminine florals adorning the mantle, tabletops, and cushions. But for me, it's the elephant side table, and with its hose pointing up, it signifies good fortune.

Really love the look of these pillows on the cream, slipcovered sofa. This is a look I could get in my living room when my paneling is painted white, nice textures, colors and comfy feminine look. Mod Vintage Life: Paintings

Serene! It is a beautiful idea to use matching, painted, antique bookcases in lieu of built-in shelves.

Another view of the cheerful, colorful living room with lots of light and natural influences. Sky blue, grassy green and sunny yellow colors set a cheerful, natural scene in which the chocolate brown sofa adds its earthy feel. The patterns add to the character of the room. I love rooms with character!

Tied Together Open floor plans present a decorating challenge: balancing the need to unite spaces while giving each zone a distinct vibe. Try tying spaces together with a soft accent color. Here, a soft blue from the living room's ottoman and throw pillows flows perfectly onto the stools lining the kitchen's breakfast bar.
