Was $65 This was a little experiment that I did and I think it was successful! This is 50 different sized wooden spools glued onto a wooden wreath frame. The frame is wrapped with different colored thread so that the edges aren't so stark. The spools are glued one by one with very strong wood glue. It was quite a puzzle getting them onto the frame but I didn't have to cut down a single one. Some of the spools have origional thread, some thread you can tell is rewound by hand and some are bare. Brands of thread visible Coats and Clark's, Belding Corticelli, Talon, and Star. Some have had paper lables removed with some traces of paper left, others are stamped into spool itself. All spools are various shades of wood and various ages. Most came from my grandmothers old sewing drawer. Since this was an expiriment a couple show the glue from the side (see last photo) but not many. I hope you like this, as of now this is the only one, if people like it I might make more. Would look great hanging in a sewing room! Wreath is just over 12" in diameter. Saw tooth hanger on back. Weighs 1 pound 11 oz. Color appears a little brighter on screan than in person (at least on my screen). Thanks for looking and please convo with any questions!

Christmas Wreath Idea from wine corks
Pop Out the Cork Add pop to a dining room with wine corks wired to tiny red jingle bells. Take about 22 corks of the same size and 22 small (3/8 of an inch) red bells bought from a crafts store. Drill a small hole (just big enough to fit your wire through) 1/4 of an inch from the top of each cork and another 1/4 of an inch from the bottom. It is very important to make sure all the drilled holes at the top line up with the holes at the bottom. Using long, green floral wire, push the wire though all the bottom holes of the corks. Leave enough wire at both ends when finished for tying closed later. Cut another long piece of floral wire to string the tops of the corks together, alternating with the bells. Start saving all of your old buttons for these awesome button crafts for kids! I have actually found mason jars full of them at thrift shops and antique stores for next to nothing in price. Even if you have old shirts that are too worn to give away, you can at least take off all of the buttons and save them for a rainy day. Once you see all of these fun craft ideas that you can do, you will know what I am talking about and want to start saving up! Here are some of my favorite button crafts that kids will especially enjoy: 1. Fall Tree by Meet The Dubiens I love this Fall tree that not only uses colorful buttons, in all sizes, but all uses a real tree branch to create the colorful tree. Kids will love making a work of art like this that they can hang proudly on the wall. 2. Button Clock by Lil Sugar For this craft, you just need to buy a clock kit from the craft store, an embroidery hoop, 12 buttons and some burlap. You would have to poke a hole through the burlap for the clock mechanism and follow the manufacturers instructions for the set up. The colorful buttons make such a cute substitution for the numbers! 3. Button Rings by Examiner I don't know what little girl wouldn't enjoy making and wearing a fun and colorful button ring. The only problem would be running out of enough fingers to wear all of these creations! 4. Button Monogram by Baby Lifestyles Most kids like to personalize their bedrooms in some way. Remember when I shared about all those gorgeous vintage patterns I found at the local Goodwill? Now I'm sharing tons of awesome craft ideas using vintage sewing patterns! I love the idea of re-using old patterns for new projects -- the graphics and illustrations are so gorgeous! As a word of caution, if you are planning to make copies of your pattern, check the copyright first. Many pattern envelopes and illustrations were copyrighted, and quite a few of the vintage patterns have had their copyrights renewed, so you will want to do your research before making copies. Here is an article about copyright law and crafting. MontclairMade on Etsy, has these adorable gift tags. So. Stinking. Cute. I love these pattern weights made from heavy washers and decoupaged paper from Pin and Paper. Use old patterns to organize your sewing space, like these from Cathe Holden, Just Something I Made. Use a pattern envelope to decorate a tote bag, like this one from georgiapeachez on Etsy. Have a lazer cutter? Make pins to give as gifts, like these from Red Revival. Image from Poppytalk. I just about died when I saw these beautiful paperdolls crafted from old patterns! Abby's Garden Use the tissue to wrap a gift! I also use the tissue inside gift bags and boxes. Heather Bullard Use the tissue patterns to cover a lampshade. BHG Use the illustrations in an art journal, like this one from Sandra Pearce. Use the patterns for wallpaper! I know I say this every month, but I truly can't believe it is December already and that Christmas is only 23 days away and this year will be over in 29 days! *sigh* Where the heck does the time go? Anyways, since Christmas is the most exciting holiday for my family, this month will be full of crafts, DIYs, recipes, and yarny projects for you to try or at least pin on your Pinterest boards for next year :) Let's get started! Today's project is great for any of you yarn lovers out there with lots of scrap yarn or skeins/balls/cakes too small to really make anything with: (via) Isn't this wreath great? If I had a house, I could definitely make one of these :) You could switch this idea up so many ways to make it fit your home, or the season, or whatever you're going for. Here are a few other yarn wreath ideas that I thought you might like: (via) Add some fake cranberries... (via) ...Or some pine cones...
