On the comedy variety series ROWAN & MARTIN'S LAUGH-IN/NBC/1968-73 comedian Lily Tomlin played a devilish five and a half year old little girl named Edith Ann. who sat on a jumbo-sized rocking chair that made her adult-sized body look like a little girl's. Rocking her chair Edith Ann would tell childish stories about her family and her dog Buster. When she concluded a point, she said, "And that's the truth" and sputtered her tongue as she gave the audience the raspberry.

Edith Ann – my life, so far: as told to Jane Wagner Hilarious! Makes me laugh every time I go back to it. Wagner’s humor translates from the page as well as it does from the screen, (she’s written for Lily Tomlin for decades), not an easy feat. If I’m having a bad day I flip to a random page and soak up some of Edith’s six-year-old musings about life… I always laugh.

Taco Bell from the 1980's

The Uncle played in many of the first and second season episodes of Green Acres. The only character on Petticoat Junction that I thought was obnoxious! Not a role example for sure! Otherwise - this show was zany and a semi-real and entertaining capture of what rural America was believed to encounter along the tracks of backwoods life.

Lily Tomlin as Edith Ann .... this also makes me think of the telephone operator ... can't remember her name in that...I loved it!

Twirly stools! And there was my dad or mom saying "sit still....stop it...stop...." hehehe

Remember the library "check out" card? If you've even been IN a library lately - it's all scanned. But - really - doesn't everyone do this via Kindle now?

Remember these? I remember getting a new pair of shoes was just getting a bigger size of saddles!
