Edward Gorey at Anchor Books, 1953-1960. Draw everything including the type with no more than 3 colours please. More examples here.

"some books are meant / to be read just like this / alone, with the evening, / a bowl of fruit ripening / waiting for the reader / to grow hungry, but / she won't, the book / will devour her, / and it / will soon / become / morning."

Twain . I realize now, that people who do not like to read, usually, are people who have a hard time reading, or have an attention deficit disorder. Something that should have been dealt with when the child was young...perhaps a brain-eye disconnect. Don't always blame the child, please. It isn't their fault.

Kinda freaky how accurate this is- not 3 hours ago I was freaking out because of the huge cliffhanger (literally it ended as they just fell down this huge underground chasm) at the end of my Percy Jackson book so I immediately downloaded the next one but I am actually afraidto read it because then I will finish it and then that will be it... And as only true nerdy bookworms would understand- the end of a series that you have obsessed over for years is a really traumatic thing!

"It's strange because sometimes, I read a book, and I think I am the people in the book." This is my life.
