During WWII, Irena Sendler worked in the Warsaw Ghetto and smuggled Jewish children out. Her dog, trained to bark when soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto, covered the kids’ noises. She save 2500 children. When caught, Nazis beat her severely. She kept the names of all the kids in a jar buried under a tree in her backyard. After the war, she tried to find survivors parents.
