G1 House / Gabriel Rivera Arquitectos. Located in Guayllabamba, place of warm weather and fertile land, G1 house is a composition of architecture and nature. An avocado tree (12 meters of height) is the “central node” or “start point” that helped us when placing the project in its site. Consequently, is from this “start point” that emerges architecture.
This raised deck off of a bedroom at this Los Angeles, CA home creates a perch for an oversize lounge chair, whose cushion echoes the bronzy brown foliage of a spiky-leafed phormium near the deck’s front edge. Bronze plants repeat near each garden room, reinforcing the brown-red theme. (Photo: Coral Von Zumwalt)
