I made turnip jack-o'-lanterns one year and hung them along a large darkened mirror in my bathroom. We replaced all the regular light bulbs in there with red colored ones. It was so creepy! The only thing I did differently than Martha that I thought was uber cool was that I left the straggly roots on the turnips because they looked like funky whiskers on the finished jack-o'-lantern.
