(Warning for those easily offended by language) But one of my favorite books of all time! Gods in Alabama by Joshilyn Jackson. Absolutely amazing book! One of the only books that I literally read all the way thru & immediately re-read it because I just had to go back once I knew the whole story! Being from the south their were parts that were so familiar. I still quote this book. “There are gods in Alabama: Jack Daniel's, high school quarterbacks, trucks, big tits, and also Jesus.”

I love reading books again and again. It's like coming back to old friends. And you will always notice something new or make a new connection that you hadn't thought of before. Even if the world in that book is always the same, the reader is not, thus the story will always grow.

**Southern Lit!** Ms Joshilyn Jackson is a thought-provoking writer & her books never fail to make me Think. Her other books include, "gods in alabama" "a grown-up kind of pretty"= i haven't read yet! &"Between, Georgia" I've had the pleasure of meeting Ms Jackson, at a book signing at the Book Exchange. She does events at local bookstores. **I do not own the copyright to these images"

Read December 2011. Nonny, who was adopted by a single deaf woman as a child, now works as a sign language interpreter and struggles to balance her adoptive family with her natural family. Jackson knows how to tell a story. Not very deep, but an easy and compelling read.

Backseat Saints - Another great read by Joshilyn Jackson. Read "Gods in Alabama" first.

The Top 32 Popular Fiction Books for Book Clubs. Of the 32, I have read a total of 4. I already have 12 of the books on the list, but haven't read them yet. There are 2 books on the list that I tried to read, but couldn't get through. Finally, several of the remaining 14 books on this list are ones that I would like to read in the future. Overall, a great list!

The author writes excellent books about the South.

If everybody would read the world would be a better place :) the only cure for ignorance

Good book about finding your life's purpose, and about the evolving definition of family.

vintage book under cloche: This would be cute to do in the class with the book the teacher is reading to the class. It makes the book seem more important or valuable.
