Neuschwanstein Castle, Germany. The castle is one of the most visited places in Europe. The castle was built by King Ludwig II. He was a shy king. He built this castle to withdraw from public life. Now the palace is visited by more than one million people every year. It has appeared in numerous movies and it was the inspiration for the Sleeping Beauty Castle of Disneyland. Amazing! #Travel #PackYourBags #AmazingPlaces #Germany #Castle #NeuschwansteinCastle

bOne of the popular tourist attractions in Germany is Neuschwanstein Castle, the most famous castle in Germany, located on a rugged hill, Fussen, approximately 2 hours from Munich. The castle was built by King Ludwig II in the 19th century and its architecture was the inspiration for Walt Disney when designing the "Sleeping Beauty Castle" at WDW. I was there in 1972-ish.

The stunning Neuschwanstein Castle is a 19th century Romanesque Revival palace that dominates a hill above the village of Hohenschwangau in Bavaria, Germany. It was commissioned by Ludwig II of Bavaria and used as a retreat. It has been open to the public since 1886 and was the inspiration for Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Whittington Castle in northern Shropshire, England, was originally a motte-&-bailey castle, but in the 13th century, this was replaced by buildings around a courtyard whose outer wall was the curtain wall of the inner bailey. It was built on the border of Wales & England as a castle of the Welsh Marches. It is the only castle in the UK which is owned & managed by a community of local residents.
