TOWELS. Remove Mildew Smell from Towels - wash with hottest water and 1 or 2 cups white vinegar OR ammonia (no detergent or fabric softener). If that didn't do it, wash again immediately with laundry soap or 1/2 cup of baking soda. (Again, hot water and no fabric softener). Dry in dryer on hot setting until thoroughly dry. Using Vinegar and Baking Soda to remove mildew smell from towels --> My towels are only a year old, yet they smelled awful. I first gave my washing machine a cleaning (see other pin on this board) and then did this and the mildew smell is gone!

How to Remove Mildew Smell from Towels- Put your towels in the washing machine, using the hottest water available. Add 1 or 2 cups of white vinegar. Do not add detergent, fabric softener, or any other products at this time. Run the washer.
