A person needs to be ready to move on to this goal, otherwise, it becomes just one more reason to criticize him/herself and try, yet again, to push painful memories down under the surface. It takes a healing God, who knows all and understands all, to help craft new and balanced ways of thinking about the past. And sometimes it takes the help of a skilled practitioner to sort out all of that.
"Forgive the past. It is over. Learn from it and let go. People are constantly changing and growing. Do not cling to a limited, disconnected, negative image of a person in the past. See that person now. Your relationship is always alive and changing." — Brian Weiss
Real World Connection- We all make mistakes and sin. We hurt the people in our lives and sometimes forget how to love each other, as Christ loved us. When we sin against others we ask for forgiveness and when someone sins against us we should forgive them. By forgiving and asking for forgiveness we are able to continue to spread love and form relationships.
