RARE Civil War ORIGINAL Hardtack Cracker!ORIGINAL piece of Civil War hardtack! Soldiers called these crackers "tooth dullers, sheet iron, shingles," and other funny names. To eat these crackers, soldiers would break them apart and float them in coffee or salt pork grease. This is a great example of the typical issue hardtack. There are sixteen perforation holes, and is around 3 x 3 inches and about 1/4 inch thick
