Diy Dress Shirt Skirt ∙ How To by Katelyn W. on Cut Out + Keep

  • Jennifer Moreno

**COOL**I made these skirts in high school, circa 1985, using t-shirts & sweatshirts. Cut out the neck (unless you're a skinny-mini), pull it up like a skirt and tie the arms of the sweatshirt in the front. T-shirt sew, or don't sew short sleeves and tuck in to use as pockets. D

If I were back in Chicago Id be raiding the thrift stores in Logans Square in a hot second after reading this simple how to: make a spring skirt from a mens shirt. Via: Adventures in Dressmaking.

Someone make this for me! Apparently it is really easy...if you have a sewing machine and are not in medical school and have time to do these kind of things

A shirtskirt! You can make one in 10 min with an old, oversized men´s shirt, a bit of thread and elastic band. Cut the shirt according to the desired length (stitch elastic at the top) and fold the top with elastic band. Sew the arms together to serve as a belt/sash and add a few belt loops from the excess fabric.

Seriously adorable. Making a skirt and attaching to a shirt to make a dress! I love the pockets.

Love this idea -- and how many unloved mens' shirts are there are thrift stores?!

get a big&tall; mens shirt..cut it off just below the armpit and fold/sew over wide elastic..use collar to make some loops and attach arms for belt on sides!
