My 4th grade teacher read this aloud to our class. Since I had pet turtles, I was quite disturbed by the fate of the one in the book. However, in retrospect, I don't really think it's possible for a child- or an adult- to swallow a turtle.

Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing- Life with his little brother, Fudge, makes Peter Hatcher feel like a fourth grade nothing. Whether Fudge is throwing a temper tantrum in a shoe store, smearing mashed potatoes on the walls at Hamburger Heaven, or trying to fly, he’s never far from trouble. He’s an almost three-year-old terror who gets away with everything, and Peter’s had it up to here!

Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing by Judy Blume, is about a nine-year-old boy named Peter and his mischievous two-year-old little brother Fudge. The book is shot from Peter's point of view. At school Peter feels like he's not listened to and the same could be said for home because Peter finds Fudge annoying. Peter is angry that his parents don't discipline Fudge more especially when it involves Peter's beloved pet turtle, Dibble. Great for eight and up.
