This recipe combines flavors that are dynamic, a touch smoky, and a little sweet with a kick of heat! We begin with succulent, trimmed chicken legs, massaged with a bold, spicy dry rub and finished with a Tart Cherry Bourbon BBQ Sauce, inspired by my recent travels to the coastlines of rustic, Northern Michigan – Wine and Cherry Country.
Homemade Taco Seasoning: 1 Tbsp chili powder 1/4 tsp garlic powder 1/4 tsp onion powder 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes 1/4 tsp dried oregano 1/2 tsp paprika 1.5 tsp ground cumin 1/2 to 1 tsp sea salt (more or less to taste) 1 tsp black pepper *Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of this mixture plus 1/2 to 3/4 cup of water to one pound of cooked meat (of your choice).
