The Sum of My Parts: A Survivor's Story of Dissociative Identity Disorder by Olga Trujillo. Also one of my FAVORITES. Olga tells the story of her abusive upbringing (pretty horrific, she doesn't go into too much detail but gives, in my opinion, just the right amount). Very well written and interesting.
The autobiography of an amazing woman who survived dissociative identity disorder. I read this in 24 hours.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith. This was surprisingly informative (yet entertaining)! This might be a good inclusion to introduce more historical fiction into the book club.
(2010) Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith. Good book review. But how could Seth have dropped the ball on not following through with Henry and the shopkeeper's relationship in the end?
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter by far one of my favorite books that I read in 2012!
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Going on the reading list!

I recently starting re-reading books, after discovering the true joy that is used book stores. I first read this book when I was 13 and have thought about it ever since. This book was the first book I re-read and it was everything I remembered. I love the haunting, futuristic message and vivid imagery that transports you to another world---a world that isn't all that unfamiliar. A definite READ!
The Giver-I try to make everyone I know read this book.

The Giver. Lois Lowry writes for children and young adults but I recommend her books to adults as well.
The Giver, Lois Lowry. A futuristic story about a boy who discovers his world is not what it seems to be & becomes desperate in his desire to change it. Beautifully written, excellent at drawing the reader in. The shallow nature of the world really comes "alive" in the tone of Lowry's writing. And that ending... Priceless. A deserving recipient of the Newbery Medal.
It may be for younger readers, but it remains one of my favorite books ever.
One of the best childhood books I ever read. Still moves me as an adult.
This was one of my favorite books when I was younger. So good!

The Giver, read this
Very good book
Music is my everything. When I'm angry a song can play and I'll forget why for that three minutes and I feel like then no one can hurt me because with music... I am my strongest. Physically I may look horrible and emotionally there could be tears rushing down my face but mentally everything is right and that's the way I want everything to be. Music = Happiness and Sanity.
Then you slowly return to reality...

I can remember so many nights turning my iPod on and drowning out the world. Or taking a drive and riding around for hours with no destination. Whether it was the saddest music or happiest music it was my escape. Some kids turned to drinking or drugs or even self mutilation-most of them just for the lack of attention. I was too much of a chicken shit or I just knew how stupid it would be to put myself thru harm that way and found music as my comfort. Every week I would find new bands and would fall in love all over again. Pouring myself out to their lyrics that I still till this day swear they were written just for me. Music spoke the words I couldn't. And even as an adult I still find myself drifting away to a song I once spent hours crying over. But still feeling that same alive feeling it gave me when I heard it for the first time.
Music helps me through EVERYTHING
Music Heals Everything!
