This is a brilliantly simple solution to a problem. I'm wondering how I can adapt this for SCA purposes.

Like the idea of placing it in your sink and using an oven rack to cook with.

Living without Electricity: How to do without a Refrigerator Off the Grid!

Fridge Without Using Electricity! Here's how it works: You take a smaller pot and put it inside a larger pot. Fill the space in between them with wet sand, and cover the top with a wet cloth. As the water evaporates from the sand, it pulls the heat out with it, cooling the inner pot. It's a natural, cheap, easy-to-make refrigerator. The invention keeps food from perishing for up to three weeks.

The Desert Fridge: This is an evaporative refrigerator that doesn't need electricity, and it costs almost nothing tomake. The design consists of an earthenware pot nestled inside a larger clay pot, with a layer of damp sand packed between the two pots. Water is poured into the sand, until it is saturated, and the inner pot is filled with produce.
