Artist Turns TSA Confiscated Scissors into Creepy Spider Sculptures - Christopher Locke

  • Nicole Bohnsack

Everyday the TSA confiscates items deemed too risky for flights. Like cupcakes for example. Many of these items are auctioned off, some are trashed, others are eaten by the agents themselves. And then there’s artist Christopher Locke, who uses TSA confiscated scissors to create these Scissor Spiders. Personally, they give me the creepy crawlies. But if you’re into that sort of thing, you can pick up a custom big and little spider pair for $350.

The beautiful thing about Summer is that one has the ability to take who they are, step back, and change themselves into the person they aspire to be. Sometimes it is important to recognize where you may need to adjust yourself and your attitude. Just like getting a hair trim to get rid of split ends, summer gives you the chance to renew and revitalize.

louise bourgeois - Saw this sculpture in Vienna...walked right underneath it. She named this piece after her own Mother who conserved Tapestries with weaving, like a spider weaves a web. Can anyone say "Mother issues!"
