That's patriotism. God bless this man. Hopefully, those around him learned what to do when the flag comes by. Also, take off your hats, and right hand over heart. We learned this in first grade. Do they still teach this? I didn't have children to know.

Patriotism! God bless this man. He's in a wheelchair but he's the ONLY person who stood up!! Reminds me that I need to do this AND teach my children patriotism and respect for the military and his country.

Never let this happen again. When my Dad was less than a month away from dying, he stood up when our flag was being held at a Memorial Day celebration. He served WWII and Korea.

Remember the real reason for Memorial Day

Patriotism. Look at all the people holding the flag! When I was in high school we did this once and had photos taken. It was a neat event for sure.

I think this picture belongs on this board.

I think some people in this country would do well to remember this.

Will use red, white and blue bunting beside door, Something else for the grapevine wreath.

"Hats off! The colors before us fly... But more than the flag is passing by... Days of plenty and years of peace; March of a strong land's swift increase; Equal justice, right, and law, Stately honor and reverend awe; Sign of a nation, great and strong, To ward her people from foreign wrong: Pride and glory and honor,-all, Live in the colors to stand or fall. Hats off!" ~Henry Holcomb Bennet, from 'Hats Off'
