Andy Warhol 1928-1987. He was a leading figure in the American pop art movement. His work included drawing, painting, printmaking, photography and silkscreening. His dad died when he was young leaving him poor. He always enjoyed art at school were he had extra art lessons. He was also famous for his work shop called the "The Factory". His famous works include: soup cans, Marilyn Monroe and tuna disaster. Silkscreening became his favourite medium. Silk screening produced replicated pictures nick named by critics "assembly line art". I like his work as all of it has clear emotion and meaning.

”Before They Were Famous” William John Kennedy site 109, 109 Norfolk St., NYC American photographer William John Kennedy’s exhibition of newly published prints of Andy Warhol and Robert Indiana is believed to be the only such images in existence capturing the artists with their works, among them Warhol’s “Marilyn Monroe” and Indiana’s “LOVE”
Photo by fine art photographer William John Kennedy. "Warhol Holding Marilyn Acetate I," a photo of Warhol taken in 1964 at The Factory in New York and printed in 2010. Resembles my interest in seeing other images through the material. Creating another image all together. New narrative. Almost like double exposure in a photograph.

"Before they were famous" exhibition / ANDY WARHOL with an unrolled acetate of “Marilyn” at the Factory, 1964, photographed by William John Kennedy. Now 81 and living in Miami Beach, Kennedy recently unearthed the archive: the artists were Robert Indiana and Andy Warhol, and the period was late 1962 to 1964, the years during which Warhol and Indiana were becoming household names (Abby Aguirre for The New York Times Style magazine)
Before They Were Famous: American photographer William John Kennedy’s exhibition of newly published prints of Andy Warhol and Robert Indiana is believed to be the only such images in existence capturing the artists with their works, among them Warhol’s Marilyn Monroe and Indiana’s LOVE. After almost half a century in storage, a select number of the nearly forgotten images were carefully chosen, and are now being published for the first time as a collection.
