060814 wild onion ~ Foy Update: Wild Onions - Collecting, Gathering and Recipe Inspiration

  • Val Sellman

Wild onions are a great way to season food. I transplanted some into the garden and harvest each year once the flower tops have formed the small bulbs. I dry the flower tops and greens slowly in the oven, then put them into my food processor until they become powder. Toasted onion powder tastes much better than what you get in the store. You can use this same process with any green onion as well.
