    Three-dimensional embroidery with dove

    Casket,Marriott family,Wilby House,Suffolk,GB,ca1660. It has remained in one family and having been kept in the original wooden carrying box which accompanies the casket. Embroidered in rich floss silks, the bottom section with opening doors revealing a series of drawers embroidered with bells and flower heads and a mirrored recess with eight gilt wood half columns. The top section with alternating panels of flora and fauna encloses a silk lined mirrored interior.
