Communication is both an expressive, message-sending, and a receptive, message-receiving, process. Failure to communicate effectively can be due to a problem on either or both ends of the process. Say what you mean and mean what you say. Be direct and honest; don't dance around the issue or play games.
This is so incredibly and wonderfully true. If you live your life by this statement, no one will forget you and you will leave a legacy of love. That's the kind of legacy that I want to leave.
"We're not alone in this. Every type of loving relationship deals with this shit. It's natural to take advantage and take for granted of the ones we love most. We have to recognize it and make sure we don't do it. Although it's a subconscious thing. I don't think there is control. The best we can do is make sure to make an effort to tell others we appreciate them."
Absolutely true. Going to Mass on Sundays is actually the bare minimum. We should also receive Communion and Penance regularly, and develop an active prayer life. Because of how much it lays out the spiritual logic of Salvation in Christ through the Church, I can't recommend the daily Rosary enough. If surrendering your life to God seems daunting, then doing these things allows Him to take over itty bit by itty bit.
