Start this like a regular braid, but drop the top piece through to the bottom and leave it there. Gently twist the 2 pieces you’re left with upward. Add a new 3rd piece in between + drop it through. Twist again and repeat. Keep going until you get to the back. Tie it with a clear elastic, tuck the end under, and secure with a bobbypin.

THE FUN BUN aka how to do a top knot. this is actually really easy for short-ish hair too! just a few more bobby pins keeping the hair up top.

Best thing is; it’s easy to do, gorgeous and keeps your hair out of your way for the night. I made this a printable tutorial, so all of the steps are next to the photos. Enjoy! Tools you’ll need: curling iron (to prep the hair with waves), sectioning clips, teasing comb or brush, clear elastic rubber band, bobby pins, light to medium holding hairspray (to mist over at the end).

Knot your average pony. **I tried this in my own hair... even though I have lots of long, thick hair, this style made me look like I had none! Seriously... I lost seven inches off the length of my pony tail :( Check out my "French Knotted Pony" for a variation I made... leaves more length and fullness in your pony tail, and makes for a super cool look!

MUST TRY! Things Needed: Curling Iron, Elastic Band, Bobby Pins, Comb & Hair Spray. 1) Curl hair and create a low pony tail with the bottom middle portion of the hair & divide the rest into 3 sections 2) Tease the top portion & twist it down to the ponytail & pin it 3) Tease side portion & twist it to the ponytail & pin it 4) Repeat on other side 5) Add some hair spray & you are ready to go!

. It’s just a regular braid, but instead of taking 3 equal sized pieces like you do in a normal braid, you just make one piece smaller than the other 2.

1. Start with wavy hair. If your hair is naturally straight, curl some sections to give it texture. 2. Separate the hair on the left & right sides of your head. Using your part as a guide, continue the part down the middle of the back of your head. To maintain the effortless, imperfect look, use your fingers instead of a comb. Tie one section with a ha...

I love the idea of doing this to my hair, but I have two problems: 1, what the heck do you do in step 5? Seriously, what? and 2, I really don't understand how to work bobby pins. This is why I'm afraid that I'll show up to my friend's wedding with my hair in a ponytail because I don't know what else I can do with it.

1. Use a 1″ curling iron to curl everything under. This will make it easier to tuck pieces into the bun 2. Flip your hair over and gather everything into a ponytail on top of you head, securing it with an elastic ponytail holder. Step 3: On the last time around with the ponytail holder, only pull the ponytail through half way. 4. Take the loop you’ve created and spread it out. Just widen it and allow it to be somewhat messy. 5. Take the tail end and wrap it around the ponytail base.
