Book Checkout- To avoid losing books or having students never bring books back you can create your own "library checkout". Each time they take a book they will fill out a checkout form and place it in their assigned slot.

Hang all those sentence strips, bulletin board borders, and tissue paper packs to keep them flat AND out out of the way! I store these in a closet in my classroom with Command hooks and mini clips. It works perfectly!

The Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Tree is made from a carpet roll (free from local carpet store) tube wrapped in brown butcher paper, stuck in a Christmas tree stand. The top is an umbrella covered with green leaves.

LOVE this- "Brain Break" sticks! Each popsicle stick has an activity on it {like spin 3x, jump rope, macarena, seat swap, etc...}.  When I see that the kids are starting to fade away, I stop and say "man, our brains need to take a break...lets do a brain break."

Designed as a reading spot, this could so easily become a Safe Place! Use two filing cabinets to create a cute cozy corner or quiet area. The curtain rod and simple curtains make this a place where students love to go.
