Traditional Christmas Cake of Sri-Lanka

Traditional Christmas Cake of Sri-Lanka is supposed to be the richest and the most delicious of all Christmas cakes. We start making it around mid November and by Christmas it will be more delicious. You can try this out with small quantities first....

Panforte, The spices are what make it unique, a Tuscan gingerbread. Its pungent and honeyed smell is for me the true scent of Christmas, along with that of almonds and orange peel of ricciarelli. In love with paneforte, easy to make and a great through the mail gift

I'm going to wait until they actually cool off and see if they taste different. Hot brownies and cooled brownies do taste different.

True that. You could salvage by drizzling some ganache?

Hey! Do you think if the top isn't covered with foil, you would get that crinkly top?

  • Edible Garden (Nags)

Varsha Mohan from what i know, covering top with foil means you are trapping moisture inside so you won't get a crinkly top that way. it also depends on amount of sugar (crinkly top = sugar)

Ah ok. Definitely going to try this out! Thanks :D
