      31 Biblical Virtues For Kids

    • nicole droz

A pinner wrote: I printed this for my prayer journal, the new (for the parents) bulletin board that I am getting together for my children's church. I also printed copies to give to each of our children's church families. The blogger also will be writing about each virtue, so I want to go back and read what she has to say.

We are starting a new devotional that our 3, 8 and 11 year old are enjoying: Grace for the Moment: 365 Devotions for Kids. One evening there was reference to Psalm 91:11 God has even "put his angels in charge of you" to "watch over you where you go". "Angels?! you mean there are angels everywhere?!" said the 8 year old with sincere enthusiasm. This is real, earth-shattering stuff to them (and me) and that makes my heart smile and I'm sure God's and all his angels rejoice!

We just finished, Sheila Walsh's God's Mighty Warrior Devotional Bible which was perfect for our house of boys. The different chapters or articles were under subheadings of 'Helmet of Salvation', 'Mighty Warriors', 'Shield of Faith', 'Stand Strong' and 'Sword of the Spirit'. My home of foam swords, Nerf guns and battle shields could appreciate this book geared for boys.

When my youngest turned one, very dear friends gave us The Jesus Storybook Bible. It has roughly 40 stories straight from the Bible. We read through this book as the kids got older bringing the Word of God to life for them. With titles like 'The Good Shepherd', 'How to Pray', and 'A Dream of Heaven' it was easy to see that the kids were listening and engaged.
