    year round indoor tulips!

Indoor Tulips . . . Step 1 - Fill a glass container about 1/3 of the way with glass marbles or decorative rocks. Clear glass will enable you to watch the roots develop . . . Step 2 - Set the tulip bulb on top of the marbles or stones; pointed end UP. Add a few more marbles or rocks so that the tulip bulb is surrounded but not covered (think support). . .Step 3 - Pour fresh water into the container. The water shouldn't touch the bulb, but it should be very close, so that the roots will grow in.

Forced Bulbs - so pretty displayed with moss and rocks

If you are growing ginger indoors remember to move the plant if it is in a location where it might get too cold in winter. The easiest way to get hold of a ginger plant is to break the little "finger" end pieces off a root of ginger. The best ones are those with a shoot bud developing. These look like a small pyramid horn at the end of the root.

Love this idea for multiple reasons : 1. Equisetum grows so quickly and make even the newest newbie of a gardener feel accomplished and happy, 2. Equisetum can get out of control and this container will prevent that from happening.
