Kedleston Hall, Kedleston, Derbyshire. Former seat of the Curzon family. Today it is a National Trust property. The present house was commissioned by Sir Nathaniel Curzon (later 1st Baron Scarsdale) in 1759. Designed by Palladian architects James Paine & Matthew Brettingham. Robert Adam designs for the park landscape impressed Curzon & he put Adam in charge of the construction. In 1939, Kedleston Hall was offered by Richard Curzon, 2nd Viscount Scarsdale for use by the War Dept during WWII.
