Queen Sophia’s Diamond Tiara History: This tiara was first seen on Queen Sophie, previously known as Princess Sophie of Prussia on her wedding to Constantine I of Greece in 1889. The tiara was later inherited by Queen Sophia’s daughter-in-law, Queen Frederika after she had died in 1932. Queen Mary’s Bath House, Edinburgh, Scotland This strange little house is located on the western boundary of the grounds of Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh, the principal residence of the Kings and Queens of Scots since the 16th century and the official residence of the British monarchy in Scotland today. Queen Mary’s Bath House is constructed in two levels with a pyramidal roof, a turret and is shaped like a large bath with Scottish Renaissance detailing. It was once attached to one of the Royal garden walls and is rumored to have been a summer house used by Mary, Queen of Scots (1542-1587). The legend says that she used to bathe in sweet white wine there. The odd building is actually a lodge or pavilion, and dates to the last quarter of the 16th century. It was restored in 1852. For 19th century photos of the house go here.
