Lake Tekapo, Mackenzie Basin, New Zealand The lake is found in a beautiful place, surrounded with the Southern Alps. The church of the Good Shepherd, built in 1935 on the shores of the lake, is a recognizable site worldwide. The area becomes especially pretty in late spring and early summer when the lupins start blooming.
