Oh-So-Easy Crockpot Caramel...you seriously won't believe how easy it is! Just one ingredient + a crockpot is all you need for the most delicious caramel sauce on the planet. Perfect for recipes, ice cream, or as an apple dip!
Have to try: been doing this for years! it's a Brazilian staple! cook a sealed can of condensed milk in a pot boiling water for 3 hours. continue to add boiling water to cover the can as the water will evaporate. let can cool COMPLETELY. then open carefully & wahlah... dulce de leite :)
Freezer -to- crockpot: almost no processed ingredients No need to cook before hand. Just add to freezer bag! I did a couple of these recipes. They turned out well and are easy--there are just some that we don't eat. But great pin, includes recipes and shopping list. I love it when people are nice enough to do all the work for me :)
Remove the label on the condensed milk and submerge the unopened can in pot of water. Cover and boil for 2.5 hours. Warning: Be sure to keep the can covered by water at all times!! After requisite time has passed, take pot off the stove and allow the can to cool. In case you're wondering - you just made magic, er, caramel!
How to make caramel from sweetened condensed milk. This is pretty interesting. And the photo is yummy looking. But two hours in a pot of boiling water...that is a long time. I can make caramel in about five minutes on the stove top. Anyway...it is interesting.
