I think that the original recipie I started out with used 2 lbs. beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch pieces instead of ground beef from another" I would use the beef cut originally called for in this recipe and go with whole grain pasta. Hungarian Goulash- I toss the cubed meat in some flour before sauteeing it to help thicken it a little bit. Use 1 tsp. of salt, add more later if needed. This would work as a great crock pot meal too, save the time of satueeing everything and just dump and go.
