Ohio Presidents - Ohio, nicknamed the "Mother of Presidents," has sent seven of its native sons (Ulysses S. Grant, Rutherford B. Hayes, James A. Garfield, Benjamin Harrison, William McKinley, William Howard Taft, and Warren G. Harding) to the White House.'All seven were Republicans. Virginia native William Henry Harrison, a Whig, resided in Ohio.
