Lolita - Vladimir Nabokov

“♀ literary character aesthetic - dolores “lolita” haze “Wanted, wanted: Dolores Haze. Profession: none, or “starlet” ”

Stanley Kubrick & Sue Lyon on the set of Lolita (1962, dir. Stanley Kubrick) “From the first, she was interesting to watch—even in the way she walked in for her interview, casually sat down, walked out. She was cool and non-giggly. She was enigmatic without being dull. She could keep people guessing about how much Lolita knew about life.” -Kubrick, 1962

Lolita - Stanley Kubrick on the set. (I like this ridiculous story because of his awesome movie.

Another poster for Lyne's adaptation of "Lolita" (1997). This film has many of the same defects as the Kubrick version without the ironic, camp charm of the Kubrick version. Watching it makes me feel icky.

Directed by Adrian Lyne. With Jeremy Irons, Dominique Swain, Melanie Griffith, Frank Langella. A man marries his landlady so he can take advantage of her daughter.
