stuffed flank steak with prosciutto and mushrooms ***made this for valentines day and it was really easy and delicious! the only tricky parts were pounding out the flank steak, and keeping everything together when you tie it. Luckily I had help when it came to tying. also our lovely butcher told me to go with cotton kitchen twine. worked great!***
These festive wheels of steak, Boursin cheese, spinach and sun-dried tomatoes look fancy, but they're quite easy to make. For a party, arrange them on a platter atop a bed of spinach.
¼ c. balsamic vinegar 1 T. Worcestershire sauce 2 tsp. dark brown sugar 1 garlic clove, minced 1 lb. flank steak salt and pepper Combine first four ingredients in a large ziplock bag. Add steak, turn to coat; marinate for 30 minutes at room temperature. Grill until desired doneness. Let stand, covered loosely with foil for 10 minutes, before cutting in thin strips against the grain.
Balsamic marinated Flank Steak. Lin's note: I couldn't find flank steak, so I marinated a thinly sliced new york strip. Delicious! 3-4 minutes on each side was too long though. Try 1-2 to get a medium steak. Another tip from another pinner: marinate overnight for more flavor.
