3rd graders created jellyfish using glue and added small touches of color while glue was still wet. After glue dried, areas of the jellyfish were filled in with oil pastel to resist the blue paint. Paint the water blue & sprinkle salt. To finish the picture the salt was brushed away and a wet cotton swab was used to remove some of the paint from the glued areas. The edges were torn to give the picture a ragged white edge then glued to a larger piece of blue paper.
Draw a picture with glue, sprinkle salt, dip a paintbrush in water and food coloring and touch it to the salt...kids will be mesmerized.
Painting on wet glue with food colouring. Once the glue has completely dried then peel it off, punch a hole in the top and hang with a string in a window...the result is a beautiful sun catcher!
