    French style hood which Anne Boleyn preferred. She wore this style so that more of her dark hair would show through.

"A cap and lappets all in one is a somewhat unusual form, indicating a transitional period during the decline of lappets as fashionable headwear. The Carrickmackross lace used for this fine example has a rich textured appearance exhibiting fine workmanship."
