At 109 years old, Australia's oldest man is making a difference for Phillip Island's little penguin population! The penguins, who were affected by an oil spill and in danger of dying from starvation and exposure, were in desperate need of some homemade sweaters. Alfie Date put his 86 years of knitting experience to the task.

Ok! So I know these aren't mammals - but they sure are cute! Eight baby duckings were rescued from a storm drain on Saturday, June 2, 2012 noon on the campus of Shippensburg University. Volunteer firefighters from the Vigilant Hose Co. of Shippensburg used a ladder to get into the storm drain and then used a net to get all eight ducklings. Mother duck was nearby in a bush, quacking away. The mother and her eight baby ducklings then waddled away together. - from photofer
