I LOVE having open shelving! We had this in our second apartment and it was so cute. But definatly not totally practical with a crazy baby unless it were up higher. And I LOVE the white dishes. When we redo all our kitchen stuff it will be all white dishes.
Shoot! We have a three-sectioned window in the dining room that is about seven feet long. The window stool (FYI sill is outside - stool is inside) sits about 30" off the ground. Just a simple knicknack style shelf about 10-12" wide and a few child-sized chairs and we have a table that isn't movable. :) OR...even better...could even just make a bench to slide under it when not in use.
