    EEKK - Dr. Suess I came up with "elbow to elbow, knee to knee, side by side, read with me" which works great for the kids to repeat in their heads, but I like this poster, too!

    Whack-a-word! Call out a word and who ever hits it first with the hammer gets to keep it. This could be a center activity with one child calling out sight words/compound words/etc., or even sentences for fluency and quick recognition.

    The kids were given a paper jar to cut out...tricky cutting out the inside! :) The jars were laminated and the film was left in the middle. We then fingerprinted the wings of fireflies with glow in the dark neon paint. Add a silver sharpie body and voila!! So cute!! The kids had a ball!! We will hang these from the ceiling!!

    Secret Sticks and Shhh...I'm Talking With My Pencil table tents. This works wonders when neighbors are chatting! The kids just simply grab their Shhh... signs and put them up. Actions speak louder than words. :)
