Shabby chic rag valance. Just tie fabric scraps to a curtain rod.--perfect for my kitchen and small windows. I wanna use lace and burlapy strips mixed with a little blue from the living room

monogrammed valance I am no sewing expert, but I can at least make two pieces of fabric stay together, and this project is so easy-peasy, there is no reason not to try it! I think other shapes for the valance would be fun, such as a scalloped hem, or a greek key for a more architectural look.

Ruffle Skirt out of old t shirts...could possibly cost me nothing to make!!

love these curtains (in different fabric) for my craft room. Love the ruffles and the painted curtain rod! Great tutorial too!

Valances-A valance is a little bit of fabric that does a big job. It hangs across the top of a window, adding softness, color, and pattern to a hard architectural element. Purely decorative, a valance helps establish a room's style. At its most basic, a slip of fabric can be attached to a rod with clip rings. For more detail, add pinch pleats

Burlap Ruffled Valance by PaulaAndErika on Etsy. This would really look good in my breakfast area.

DIY ruffle pillows! This would match the ruffled comforter DIY I've got saved for that "some day". Make a few of these in different colors and voila!
