Dover Castle Dover, Kent, England is a medieval castle founded in the Century and has been described as the "Key to England" due to its defensive significance throughout history. It is the largest castle in England.

The original, iron-studded oak door lies at the end of a short passageway with murder holes in the ceiling above. Deal Castle was finished in 1540 as part of Henry VIII's scheme to defend the south coast against invasion. This site is now in the care of English Heritage (2010).

Bodiam Castle is a ruined moated castle near Robertsbridge in East Sussex, England. It was built in 1385 by Sir Edward Dalyngrigge, a former knight of Edward III. Although the exterior of Bodiam Castle has largely survived, the interior is ruinous.

Goodrich Castle, Herefordshire, England.  In existence by 1101, known as Godric’s Castle, named probably after Godric of Mappestone.  At the beginning of the 12th century, the castle had passed from Godric to William Fitz Baderon, thought to be his son-in-law, and on to his son, Baderon of Monmouth who married Rohese de Clare, a member of the powerful de Clare family.
