Paper Snowflakes.... What a great way to make snowflake ornaments to match your Christmas décor! I would never have guessed how easy these are. The kids now have a project to begin that's affordable to do with a group of friends.!
~ Borax Snowflakes ~ Twist three 5-inch pieces of pipe cleaner together to form a snowflake, then add a 1 1/2-inch piece to each point. Tie the flake with string to a pencil. Find a big enough jar so the suspended flake won't touch the sides. Fill with 3 tablespoons borax and 1 drop blue food coloring per 1 cup of boiling water. Hang the snowflake in the jar. Let sit overnight; remove.
Great for toddler fine motor skills. Clean liter bottle etc. fill with pipe cleaner pieces about 1/2 inches long. Make sure to use different colors. Seal container, give child a magnet of some sort. The pipe cleaner pieces follow the magnet. Actually fun to watch.
